Job Description

A leading law firm seeks an accomplished Corporate Partner with a strong background in Private Equity and M&A transactions to join its Atlanta office. This is a strategic lateral hire meant to strengthen the firm's corporate transactional practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage sophisticated public and private M&A transactions, including cross-border deals.
  • Advise private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, and strategic buyers on acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and restructurings.
  • Provide general corporate counsel, including governance, compliance, and financing matters.
  • Develop and expand client relationships, leveraging existing portable business.
  • Collaborate with the firm's national corporate team on multi-jurisdictional transactions.
  • Mentor associates and contribute to firm leadership and business development.

Required Experience

  • Significant experience handling complex corporate / M&A matters in an AmLaw, Vault, or respected regional firm environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage deal teams and client relationships.
  • Georgia Bar membership (or willingness to waive in).
  • Strong academic credentials and a track record of leading sophisticated deals.

Business Expectations

  • Portable book of business typically $1M-$2M+, depending on firm.
  • Strong network within private equity, financial sponsors, investment banks, or strategic corporate clients.
